When we founded the UFT Hispanic Affairs Committee in 1986, our goal was simple: to help inform members about cultural, pedagogical and professional issues affecting Hispanic educators.
Over the years, we have broadened our focus to include our actual classroom practices and the day-to-day realities faced by educators, students and families.
The Hispanic Heritage Committee's steering committee is made up of volunteer UFT members. They guide and implement the committee's goals.
We are committed to creating a forum where all educators, especially Latinx educators, can have a voice in ensuring quality teaching and high standards for all students.
We invite you to join your voices with ours! For more information, contact us at hac@uft.org.
