The Directors of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Programs are responsible for the year-round administration, supervision, work-plan development and implementation of alcohol and substance abuse prevention and education programs across the New York City school system.
Duties include:
- The implementation of OASAS and Title IV grants
- NYS/PARIS/OASAS online reporting
- SAPIS supervision
- District crisis response teams
- Drug and violence prevention professional development
- State and federal budgets
- Program and staff evaluation
- Site development
- Staffing and placement
- Principal training
- CBO collaboration
- Summer youth development programming
- After-school programming
- Special events and initiatives
- Technical assistance for school administrators and staff
