How can I sign up to receive text messages from the Federation of Nurses?

The Federation of Nurses have started using texting as a method to send important updates to our members. 

To sign up, Use this link while on your mobile device (you’ll be asked to grant access to your text messaging app) or text "FON" to #86366. You'll need to provide the email address where you received this UFT email to verify your information.

Please note that this is a one-way form of communication and we are unable to respond individually to texts sent in response to our messages.

How do I update my email preferences and/or subscribe to Federation of Nurses and UFT newsletters?

First, you must already be subscribed to receive our emails. Learn how to subscribe to emails »

At the very bottom of each email we send out, there is a link to email preferences:

From that link, you can update your preferences and subscribe to Federation of Nurses emails or specific UFT newsletters. Just click on the communications you want to receive and hit submit: 

How do I sign up for a website account with the Federation of Nurses?

To access valuable information, UFT emails and online forms, you must have a UFT.org account where you can access the Federation of Nurses web page. 

Setting up a UFT.org account and joining the union are two separate processes. Start by visiting uft.org/register. If you are not a union member, you can enroll online once you have created a website account. 

Please note: You must use a personal email (not a work email address) when creating a website account. 

To set up an account:

  1. Go to UFT.org and click Sign Up (top right corner)
  2. Create a New Account
    - Follow the steps to create a new account
  3. Validate your email
    - Check your personal email and click the link you were sent
  4. Log back in to UFT.org account with your username or email and password
  5. Click My Account (top right)
    - Here you can join the union, verify your identity, join the Welfare Fund and/or order movie tickets

Not receiving UFT emails?

  1. Register for a UFT.org account (if you don't have one)
  2. Log in to the UFT website
  3. Go to My Account
  4. Click the purple "Edit" button
  5. Subscribe (or resubscribe) to UFT emails at the bottom of the page

Want to change where you receive UFT emails?

  1. Log in to the UFT.org website
  2. Go to My Account
  3. Click the purple "Edit" button above your personal details
  4. Update your email address and click Save
How do I sign up to receive emails from the Federation of Nurses?

Follow the instructions below to subscribe to emails from the Federation of Nurses/UFT to make sure you are receiving the latest news and important information. 

To subscribe: 

  1. Register for a UFT.org account (if you don't have one)
  2. Log in to the UFT website
  3. Go to My Account
  4. Click the purple "Edit" button, then scroll down to subscribe or resubscribe.

Want to change where you receive UFT emails?

  1. Log in to the UFT website
  2. Go to My Account
  3. Click the purple "Edit" button, then update your email address
  4. Click the "Save" button 
How can I update my personal information (primary address, primary phone number, primary email) on record with the Federation of Nurses?

You can update your personal information directly on the UFT.org website. You must be a registered user on the UFT website to do so. If you haven't registered yet, see instructions on how to do so

To update your email address only, log in to the UFT.org website and click on “My Account” in the top right-hand corner. You must use a personal email address (not a work email) for your account. 

From the “My Account” page of the UFT.org website, you will also find a link to Change of Status/Update your Information form to update your address and your primary phone number.

You can also send an email to nurses [at] uft [dot] org (nurses[at]uft[dot]org). In your email, please include:

  • your first and last name
  • your UFT member ID number OR the last four digits of your Social Security number OR your file number OR your EIS number
  • your new information

Or you can print out our change of status form and email it to us.
