Eligibility

You are eligible to be covered by the UFT Welfare Fund Benefits Plan for Retirees if all of the following criteria are met.

Optical

As a member of the UFT Welfare Fund, you and your covered dependents are entitled to an eye exam, and eyeglasses or contact lenses.

Optional rider

Each year at the beginning of March, eligible retired members receive a partial reimbursement from the UFT Welfare Fund for the cost of an optional drug rider that provides prescription coverage from their insurance carrier.

Member Assistance Program

The Member Assistance Program (MAP) has trained professional counselors who guide you through issues that can affect your mental health. Our services are free, confidential, professional and voluntary.
