Gloria Eady’s 83 years on this earth took her from Pineville, South Carolina to Queens, New York. In that time, she spent 39 years as an educator, most recently at PS 87 in Queens. Gloria held education in the highest regard and her students returned that regard — some kept in touch with her for over 30 years. Over her long career, Gloria touched many minds, including some who would go on to become well-known: actors Eddie Murphy and Charlie Murphy.
Gloria received her Bachelor's degree in elementary education from Winston Salem Teachers College in North Carolina and earned her Masters Degree in education from Fordham University in New York.
She is survived by her son, Eric Eady, and her daughters Curttrynna and Pamela Eady.
