Janet Gaw-Adamski, Age 71
Janet Gaw-Adamski was a talented teacher and loyal colleague who served as a third- and fourth-grade classroom teacher, third-grade teacher consultant and computer lab teacher at PS 58 in Brooklyn. She was an example and mentor to many of her colleagues. She was also a talented musician who played the piano for the school's many musical productions and for numerous graduation ceremonies.
Janet was a graduate of New York's public school system who attended PS 107 and PS 10 in Brooklyn, Bay Ridge HS and the City College of New York, where she received a letter in synchronized swimming. She was a dedicated congregant of her local church, serving in various capacities including Elder and Deacon. Janet was also a lifelong singer in church choirs and a Brooklyn singing group called the Park Slope Singers.
Janet is survived by her husband Robert Adamski, her sister Rita Reamer Vernon, also a former New York City teacher, her brother John Anna, as well as one nephew and two nieces and two grandnieces.
