By the time the second tower was hit, parents were streaming to the school to pick up their children. A command post was established in the principal's office and two locations were set up to sign out students; one in the library for elementary students and another in the auditorium for I.S. students. All support staff stepped up. Instruction carried on as usual as school aides gathered students from classrooms after emergency blue cards were checked. There were no titles that day, no distinction between administration and staff. We were just human beings trying to do our jobs.
