Jewish Heritage Committee members are invited to register to the second annual Tikkun Olam Awards Night celebrating honorees who do outstanding work to repair the world in the spirit of tikkun olam.

The proceeds from the celebration will go toward the committee's community service efforts. There will be music, dancing and a kosher-style dinner. A kosher dinner is available upon request.

The cost per ticket is $110.

Persuading lawmakers to oppose the governor’s proposal to substantially increase the number of charter schools operating in New York City topped the agenda for the nearly 900 UFT members and public school parents who traveled to Albany on March 13 to meet face to face with their state representatives on the union’s annual Lobby Day.
