UFT Veterans Committee welcomes retirees
UFT retirees are welcome to join the UFT Veterans Committee.
The committee advocates on behalf of UFT members who serve or have served in the nation’s armed services and shares information, programs and services available to veterans.
Veterans Committee meet and greet
Members of the UFT Veterans Committee appreciated the opportunity to reconnnect at a meet and greet at union headquarters on Nov. 8 — the committee’s first in-person event since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
Making a difference for returning soldiers
Chester “Chet” Edwards, a retired New York City public school teacher and decorated veteran, volunteers his time helping his fellow veterans return to civilian life after serving in the U.S. military.
Getting help for veterans
Retiree Michael Rothfeld produced five documentaries recounting the stories of veterans who served in World War II and the Korean, Vietnam and other wars.
Resolution to modify the DOE student enrollment form to include parental/guardian veteran status
The UFT resolves to ask the Department of Education to modify the student Information/registration form to include a question about parents’/guardians’ veteran status.
