The NYS Office of Children and Family Services requires training for child care providers and early childhood teachers in 10 topics to renew their licenses, so register now for these professional development opportunities. This course, "Adverse Children’s Experiences (ACES) 101", covers OCFS Training Topic 10.  See below for the list of OCFS Training Topics.

You may register for all courses or individual sessions. The cost is $20 per session. These classes will be offered in English only.

1. Principles of childhood development, focusing on the developmental stages of the day-care age groups. 
2. Nutrition and health needs of infants and children. 
3. Child day-care program development. 
4. Safety and security procedures
5. Business record maintenance and management. 
6. Child abuse and maltreatment identification and prevention.
7. Statutes and regulations pertaining to child day care. 
8. Statutes and regulations pertaining to child abuse and maltreatment.
9. Education and information on the identification, diagnosis and prevention of shaken baby syndrome. 
10. Adverse childhood experiences, focused on understanding trauma and on nurturing resiliency.
