Apply by July 15 for a state grant to support your child care program's reopening
The following email was sent to child care providers on June 29 by UFT Family Child Care Providers Chapter Chair Tammie Miller.
I want to let you know about the New York Forward Child Care Expansion Incentive Program, a grant program created just for New York child care providers through the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act. These grant opportunities are designed to assist the reopening and expansion of capacity in child care programs. For more information, read Gov. Andrew Cuomo's recent announcement about $65 million in federal CARES Act funding available for child care providers.
If you are a licensed/registered provider, or if you are an informal provider and care for only one or two children in your home, you should consider taking advantage of this incentive program.
Download the application for your program using the appropriate link below. Applications are also available on the state Office of Children and Family Services website. Please note: The submission deadline is Wednesday, July 15, at 5 p.m.
