Paraprofessionals Chapter elections this spring
Every three years, you have an opportunity to elect a school chapter leader, a paraprofessional representative for your school as well as the leadership of the citywide Paraprofessionals Chapter.
In your school chapter election, which will take place at your school, you will vote for a school chapter leader and a paraprofessional representative.
In the Paraprofessionals Chapter election, which takes place by mail ballot, paraprofessionals will be electing a chapter leader and six other offices, 15 at-large executive board members, five borough coordinators, 32 district coordinators and 262 delegates to the UFT Delegate Assembly.
If you wish to run for a position in the Paraprofessionals Chapter, please read your chapter's Notice of Election carefully before submitting a nomination. The Notice of Election provides all the positions to be filled plus information about nominating procedures, candidate statements and membership requirements.
Nominations
You can nominate yourself or someone else for each position. Please fill out a separate nominating form for each person being nominated for a particular position.

Officers and At-Large Executive Board Members
Nominating forms: All candidates must submit a nominating form with the appropriate signatures.

Paper copies of these nominating forms may be obtained at a UFT borough office or by calling the UFT election hotline at 212-331-6310.
Deadline: All nominating forms must be received by 5 p.m. on April 12 at the UFT c/o Yasmin Colon, 50 Broadway 13th Fl, New York, NY 10004.
Voting: Ballots for officers, at-large executive board members and Delegate Assembly delegates will be mailed to members' homes around May 9. The deadline for receipt of ballots at the American Arbitration Association is June 13.
Borough Coordinators and District Coordinators
Nominating forms: All candidates must submit a nominating form with the appropriate signatures.
Paper copies of these nominating forms may be obtained at a UFT borough office or by calling the UFT election hotline at 212-331-6310.
Deadline: All nominating forms must be received at the respective borough office by 5 p.m. on April 2.
Voting: Borough coordinators are elected by district coordinators, and district coordinators are elected by paraprofessional representatives. These elections take place on Monday, April 8.
The term of office for these positions is three years beginning July 1, 2024.
Please participate in your school chapter election and your functional chapter election. Those you elect will be responsible for keeping paraprofessionals informed and engaged, advocating for you, and communicating the views, priorities and needs of paraprofessionals.
