School counselors: Share these college planning webinars with your students
The following email was sent May 14 to all school counselors by Chapter Leader Rosemarie Thompson.
In response to the changes in the postsecondary planning landscape, Sallie Mae is standing by us during these unprecedented and challenging times. Since the students aren’t physically in front of us, Sallie Mae will offer webinars on the key topics of understanding financial aid offers and planning for college to enhance the wonderful work you are already doing.
As you know, Sallie Mae is the nickname for the SLM Corporation, a private company that creates, services and collects private education loans and manages billions in loans. Sallie Mae's webinars are offered in both English and Spanish and are offered in the morning and evening to accommodate varying family schedules. Students must pre-register so please advertise this opportunity through your school’s preferred communication platforms (i.e. Google Classroom, email, etc.) to encourage them to register.
This is a self-guided presentation so it is crucial students log in on their own to receive the information. Please refer to the attachment for detailed information.
