Regarding a colleague who was recognized on UFT social media during Teacher Appreciation Week in May:

Ms. Franshesca Chaterpaul is one of the most loving, kind and caring teachers I have ever had the honor of working with. She sees children and makes space for each of them in her own special way. Beyond the classroom, she’s a warm and helpful colleague. If you need something and she has it, it’s yours. If you’re struggling with something, she comes in and struggles with you to figure it out. If you’re having a hard time personally or having a bad day, she’s there in support, shining her bright light. Working with her has been a healing experience and a blessing. I cannot say enough about this tremendous educator.
