The Teachers’ Retirement System issues 1099 tax forms each January to people who received distributions from TRS in the previous year. The 1099 forms for tax year 2024 were mailed in January 2025. The UFT will send an email to retirees when their 1099 forms are available on the TRS website to view online and download. That email will also include a link to the TRS informational brochure.
