A new procedure has been established for UFT members who visit UFT headquarters in Manhattan or one of the union’s borough offices.
UFT members must show a photo ID as well as their UFT ID card — either the physical card or the digital version on UFT-Mobile, the union’s app. Nonmembers must show a second form of identification.
UFT members who visit 52 Broadway should first go to the Welcome Center in the main lobby, which opens at 3 p.m., to check in. At the four borough offices, visitors fill out a form at an iPad kiosk stating the reason for the visit. The UFT member will then be called by the office receptionist, at which time the member will show the two forms of ID.
These new procedures have been established to enhance security and ensure that UFT members receive quality services.
