UFT events at minor league baseball games

UFT members and families turned out in force for two minor league baseball games in the early summer days of June, chomping on hot dogs and burgers while representing the union and its initiatives.

UFT staff, working hand in hand with members, were front and center helping those in need across the city after Hurricane Sandy. UFT President Michael Mulgrew honored about 100 of those staffers with awards on June 19 outside Shanker Hall.

About 125 participants were offered a wide range of workshops at the Spring New York City Association of Foreign Language Professional Development Workshops.

Meet the President: Brooklyn High Schools and BASIS

UFT President Michael Mulgrew had a wide-ranging discussion with high school educators from Brooklyn and the Brooklyn and Staten Island HS district (BASIS) at a gathering at Brooklyn Tech HS on April 16. Among the topics discussed were the upcoming mayoral election, what the future of education should look like in New York City, the fact-finding process to resolve the contract impasse, teacher evaluations and school budgets.
