This fall when I found out my school was going fully remote, I signed up for a graduate school course at Hunter College called Learning Online Environment. This is where I learned about Bitmoji classrooms and how to build one. I was inspired to create an ELA classroom for my 7th- and 8th-grade students where they can access all that they need to be successful for the learning day in one place. In this classroom, my students can access our learning platform iLearn, Epic Books for independent reading along with texts their teachers are reading, their class schedule with Zoom links, the classroom norms and agreements created by students and (my favorite) a mindfulness-meditation breathing exercise conducted by me in a video. ”
