How to pick a book

New York Teacher

It was my goal last school year to encourage my students to pick books to read for fun. I gathered books in English as well as Spanish for my small classroom library. The posters on the wall remind students of terms they need to know and also walk them through the process of picking a book. I often spend much time in front of the shelf browsing with incoming students and talking about what they are into and who their favorite author is.
