The New York City Art Teachers Association/UFT (NYCATA) challenge asked art teachers and their students — from elementary to high school — to create visual images of their feelings and concerns this school year. 


The UFT Speech Improvement Chapter's annual Better Speech and Hearing Month Celebration, held virtually on May 20, honored 34 members for creative projects as well as students and retiree Lisa Arian.

The UFT presented $5,000 Albert Shanker College Scholarships to 134 public high school students and eight graduate students on June 2 at the 52nd annual Albert Shanker Scholarship celebration, held virtually on Zoom.

The UFT Pride Committee honored five high school students with $1,000 scholarships at its third Daniel Dromm Scholarship ceremony, held virtually on June 5.

Eight schools and 28 individuals were honored on April 29 at the UFT's annual Academic HS Awards ceremony, held virtually, while all educators were praised for their hard work and commitment this school year.
