As a retiree (still can’t believe I’m saying that — I sang at a nursing home and was older than a few there), I just wanted to congratulate the union on its well-deserved contract gains. We are all a part of a big family of educators and dedicated decent people whose influence and worth can often last generations.

I am still in touch with my 6th-grade teacher who I still love with all my heart. Just want you to know that those of us who came before admire, respect and continue to take pride in seeing you receive the fiscal support you so richly deserve. Bravo!
