The UFT Welfare Fund prescription drug benefit has been enhanced. In-service members who are eligible for UFT Welfare Fund benefits now have a new convenient option for picking up their long-term medications for chronic conditions such as high cholesterol or asthma.

Effective March 1, 2020, these UFT members may have maintenance medication filled at any Walgreens/Duane Reade pharmacy. They still have the option to order these medications through the Express Scripts Mail Order Pharmacy. The choice is theirs.

Whether a member uses Express Scripts Mail Order or Walgreens/Duane Reade, the copayments will be the same for a three-month supply: $10 for generics, $30 for preferred brand-name drugs and $70 for nonpreferred brand-name drugs.
