“Activists never retire” was the message on T-shirts and in practice at the AFT Convention from July 14-17 at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center in Massachusetts. Members of the UFT’s Retired Teachers Chapter were among the delegates who voted overwhelmingly to re-elect AFT President Randi Weingarten, a former UFT president; Secretary-Treasurer Fedrick Ingram; and Evelyn DeJesus, a former UFT vice president.
