WHEREAS, the UFT Delegate Assembly passed a resolution at its April meeting calling on Congress to pass a bill on raising the minimum wage to $10.10; and
WHEREAS, there is a growing movement among labor and its allies to raise the minimum wage to $15.00; and
WHEREAS, the April meeting of the UFT Retired Teachers’ Chapter voted to support a $15.00 minimum wage; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the UFT move to support the growing movement in favor of a $15.00 minimum wage and lobby our members in Congress to also promote and endorse this commitment.
