Resolution in opposition to state receivership

The UFT strongly opposes receivership and will vigorously challenge attacks on due process, collective bargaining and other fair labor practices that are a consequence of receivership.

Resolution in support of the Professional Staff Congress

The United Federation of Teachers supports the Professional Staff Congress in trying to get a new contract and that the UFT supports the efforts of CUNY’s university student Senate to stop the almost half-billion in proposed budget cuts.

Resolution on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of the UFT

In keeping with the UFT’s 56-year tradition, we re-commit ourselves to advocating for our members and the children and vulnerable populations whom we serve.

Resolution to rescind mandate relief

The UFT calls on the New York State Legislature to rescind its 1995 mandate relief. The union also calls on NYS to require that the city's schools adhere to a maximum of five students to one teacher or provider in SETSS and related-service settings, and establish a maximum caseload for SETSS services of 20 students at the elementary level and 25 at the middle and high school levels.

Resolution for the mandated enrollment of UFT paraprofessionals in the Teachers' Retirement System

The UFT supports state legislation to mandate the enrollment of Paraprofessionals into TRS when they are hired by the NYC Department of Education.

Resolution to endorse Debra Penny for election to the Teacher's Retirement Board

The UFT endorses Debra Penny for election as a teacher-member of the Teachers' Retirement System Board of the City of New York for a three-year term beginning in 2016.
